City Church is filled with amazing people and has a unique position in our city and our denomination. There is work that we can do here that few others can. Pastor Todd wants to join you in thinking about how we can embrace that uniqueness. How can we be the church? How can we have more than the “go to church” mentality that emphasizes ideas that only serve our spiritual needs? What practices and priorities can shift us towards creating safer community? What can we do to develop a more compassionate presence in Glendale and online? How can we pursue a deeper individual and communal spirituality? Check out Pastor Todd’s blog with sermons, articles, and thoughts on his website, toddjleonard.com!

City Church’s Online Campus expands next week! Simply log on to http://CityChurch-Online.org and watch the current or archived service video, with its inspiring music and preaching! During “live” streaming you can chat with others watching or request confidential prayer. Starting in October 1, we plan to expand the church service rebroadcasts by being “live” every evening of the week, Sunday through Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 11 a.m., Pacific and Eastern times (14 broadcasts per week). It should make it simpler for viewers to remember that we are online at the same time every weekday. This means, of course, that we urgently need more web hosts for each service—welcoming viewers at the beginning and wishing them God’s blessing at the end of the service. Please contact us if you have questions or would be willing to help regularly or occasionally for any of these time slots, and share the blessings we receive at Glendale City with those who are unable to worship with us in person. City Church is hosting a German youth choir that will perform for us on Sabbath, October 4, for our worship service. We express the deepest gratitude to those who have opened their homes to host these 40 children. All members who have volunteered to host them should meet for a few minutes with Pastor Arleene at the front of the sanctuary, immediately following the worship service this morning.
Next Sabbath, October 4, will be potluck, in honor of our special guests from Germany (no potluck October 18); the theme is “international.”
Mark your calendars for October 11, when City Church will be having its next business meeting to discuss important plans for its upcoming programs!
