Saturday Morning Worship Service, Hispanic Heritage Month–Arleene Chow, September 24

  • 818-244-7241 Church Office

Getting to Know the People in Your Church Better 2016! As an inclusive and welcoming congregation, Glendale City Church has a wonderfully diverse group of people who call this church home; we have tried to focus on a different segment of our congregation each month. This September we will focus on Hispanic Heritage Month. We will have speakers each week from a Hispanic heritage, and feature a potluck of hispanic cuisine on September 24. Hispanic Heritage Month is the time between September 15–October 15 when we recognize the contributions of Hispanic Americans in the United States and get to know their heritage and culture. It was first commemorated by President Lyndon Johnson 1968, but only celebrated nationally since 1988. It starts on September 15 in honor of Central American Independence Day, and then Mexico and Chile’s Independence Day follows. We hope you enjoy the variety of experiences that will help us grow together in friendship as we continue to get to know each other better. When we uplift and acknowledge each other in where we come from, we better each others’ lives.
