March 12, 2016, 5:00 p.m. Glendale City Church presents Harout Senekeremian, piano.
Harout Senekeremian began playing the piano at the age of 4. At age nine, he began studying at the prestigious Colburn School of Performing Arts where he played in many master classes with pianists Yefim Bronfman, Robert Levin & Earl Wild, among others. In 1997, Senekeremian performed Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Glendale Symphony. Upon high school graduation, Harout entered the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, studying piano with Alvin Chow, followed by his masters studies under Arkady Aranov at the Manhattan School of Music.
Harout has taken a keen interest in nontraditional repertoire with a specialization in the solo piano music of French composer CharlesValentin Alkan. He continues to concertize in both solo and chamber concerts in Southern California as well as maintaining an active piano studio.
This concert will feature compositions by Fauré, Rachmaninov, Alkan, Hamelin, and more!
A reception will be held following the concert to allow an opportunity to meet the artist.
